She wandered in the desert of her loneliness
Pretending not to care ignoring the obvious
That the feelings of love had intensified in her
They practically swept her off her feet
Yet she seemed to roam aimless in her own little world
She felt lost amongst the crowd always alone
But with him it was different it was new, this was love
She couldn’t control her emotions wanting to laugh and cry
To express herself to reveal that part of her lost for so long
She wanted to profess her love for him
He was always on her mind her only constant
She couldn’t live without him but with such love comes fear
Love had left its scars on her she knew love could be cruel
She had felt loves sting and she remembered it’s pain
Love is a double edged sword and it had cut her to the quick
She feared love more than loneliness itself
For she believed it was better to be alone
Than to give herself over to love and face more pain
As she walks away a tear falls from her eye into the desert sand
A flower of hope appears and this alone makes her smile…
